Gambling operators in the UK have a new way to manage their licenses after the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) launched a self-service portal.
The new portal will enable firms that hold a UK license to manage all of their account activities through online access, which is also available through mobile devices.
The portal, which is available through the website of the UKGC, makes it possible for licence holders to make changes to their online details, as well as provide information and news about relevant events related to their licence. They can also download licence copies through it. In addition, it includes a processing system that will reduce the length of time it takes to process a licence from a matter of weeks to days, cutting down on administration and bureaucracy.
According to the executive director of the Commission, Helen Venn, the new portal is already a success with as many as 4,000 users registered:
“Over half of those have used a mobile device to access the portal, allowing them to manage their personal licence on the go, save time and hopefully improving their experience.”
Venn added that the portal was the result of working with licence holders to find out what they need and reflected the determination of the UKGC to work at continually improving their regulatory system. She said that it was designed with the intention of cutting back administration time and helping to make their technology more efficient.
The UKGC has also put out an important reminder to personal licence holders. They have been warned that any applications made through the existing online portal before November 26 will need to be re-registered and processed if they were not completed.
